Lessons from the Thaw

We’ve reached the end of March. In Ontario, this is the month where we finally stop looking backward at winter and start looking forward to what’s next. But as we’ve discussed all month, that transition isn't a straight line—it’s a "thaw."

In the therapy room, this month has been about integration. It’s about taking the lessons we learned in the quiet of winter and bringing them into the active energy of spring.

✨ What We Learned This Month

As you move into April, take these three "thaw lessons" with you:

  • Steady beats Fast: We saw that rushing into spring energy leads to burnout. True growth happens when we pace for sustainability.

  • Mud is Part of the Process: We acknowledged that transitions are messy. Being "in the mud" doesn't mean you aren't making progress; it means you are in the middle of a shift.

  • Balance is an Action: We practiced the Equinox reset, remembering that finding our center is something we have to do every single day.

🛋️ Looking Ahead

Spring is a season of opening up, but that doesn't mean we leave our boundaries behind. As the light grows, keep checking in with your interoception cues. Your body still knows what you need, even when the world gets louder and busier.

Take a moment today to notice one way you feel different than you did on March 1st. Maybe your "social battery" feels a bit more protected. Maybe you’re better at noticing your own "bracing." That awareness is the real win.
